About the Project

My goal is to crochet at least 1 of every single Pokemon!

More specifically, at least 1 form of each Pokemon in the Pokedex. I may do variants of the same species (gender variants, regional forms), but I only count them once towards my progress.

I'll document my progress here mostly with pictures of each completed Pokemon crochet as I make them. I try to take a quick picture of each crochet right after I finish them, and then later on do more posed photos with the Pokemon set against a background and showing different angles. I'd also like to take pictures of different sets of Pokemon, like evolution sets, or as part of art challenges.

Officially I started this project on May 1, 2017 (day I created a tumblr for it), and I've worked on and off on it throughout the years. I freehand everything, meaning I don't use patterns; I make it up as I go. I don't sell any of my patterns or finished crochets, do not ask me for them. Eventually when I've made every single Pokemon, maybe TPC will sponsor a crochet pattern book series. That would be cool!

I want this site to be more of a repository of sorts, but you can see more detailed commentary and random other musings on my Tumblr!

About the Site

I'm still figuring out what exactly I want to have here on the site, but I've got a lot of ideas!

For now there are five galleries: All, FOTH, Pokeamidex, Group/Misc, and Collection. There are also individual gallery pages for each Pokemon.

• The All gallery has just literally every photo I have currently uploaded to the site, on one page. That's around 3000 photos as of 10/10/2024, so it might be slow and take a while to load.
• The FOTH gallery has my "fresh off the hook" pictures, meaning the ones that I took right after finishing a crochet. These are usually me holding up the crochet with no particular background and lamp lighting. Good for visualizing the size of each Pokemon.
• The Pokeamidex gallery is what I consider the "official" photos of each crochet I do. I pose each crochet with a different background and take pictures at various angles. You can sort these alphabetically, by pokedex order, or by chronological order of when I made them. For Pokemon that I've made multiples of, the dates of the first one and the pictured one are listed. Eventually you'll also be able to click each picture to go to that crochet's specific Pokeamidex gallery page that has info tidbits like what was unique or challenging about crocheting that particular one.
• The Group/Misc gallery has photos where multiple Pokemon are featured. Usually this is for evolution sets, but there's also random ones from art challenges I've done or requests.
• The Collection gallery has a few photos that are so incredible I think they deserve their own page so they can be admired on a wider scale and not just little preview boxes. Notably there's one I took when my collection was just under 300, and I arranged them in a massive pile on the floor. Not something I'm going to do again any time soon because it's very space- and time-consuming. The other two are pictures of my crochets hanging from the ceiling! That's where I store/display them all eventually. :D
• The individual Pokemon gallery pages are collections of every photo I have of that Pokemon in case you wanted to look up specific Pokemon. You can navigate to them 1) using the dropdown lists at the bottom of the main gallery hub page, 2) from the Total page, or 3) by going to https://dailypokemoncrochet.tumblr.com/gallery/pokemonname (replace the "pokemonname" with whichever one you're looking for, in lowercase, with no special characters).

There's also the Total page that you can access by clicking on "total count" in the nav bar. It has lists of the Pokemon I've crocheted this far, and each name links to that Pokemon's individual gallery page.
